For this production I wrote original music and designed a system for a specific form of spatial audio. The original music was composed for strings and slowly grew into a full orchestra over the course of the play. The system consisted of 5 distinct subsystems that each color the space & sound in a different way: reflected from above, from underneath the stage, a standard center cluster, a proscenium style left right system, and a small center cluster pulled upstage. This allowed the sound to travel around the room in unexpected ways adding an increased level of dynamism to the sound and music.

Compostions/Cues
Time is Running This is a version of Emilie's main theme. Here it is fully orchestrated. Through out the play we decided to use different versions and sections to effect the mood of the production.
In the Air Here is an example theme from the music that was written for the play. This one is played in hopes of creating the feeling of nostalgic romance.
This effect was used during the "moments of touch" through out the play. It was meant to remove the air from the room.
Summary Of Production
"Emilie, Marquise Du Chatelet was a woman ahead of her time. An 18th century mathematical genius and pioneer in the study of physics, Emilie returns tonight to defend her legacy and to answer the question she struggled with until the end: love or philosophy? Head or heart?"
