Stewart Blackwood is a composer, sound designer, and installation artist whose work has been presented across the United States.
He writes music, creates software, builds instruments, designs sound systems, and utilizes live effect processing for the various pieces he creates or collaborates on.
When composing, Stewart believes in following a holistic approach. He often starts by selecting a few timbres, doing site-specific field recordings, and then taking this material and growing it into an entire score.
