Projection Designer: Nathan Geronimo
|
This was an artistic event put on by the Cleveland based art group: Maelstrom Collaborative Arts. In this, a group of Ohio artists were matched with others and were told to make some kind of art that took place over time. The artist I was paired with was the analog projection designer Nathan Geronimo. We entitled our contribution to Bricolage Slow No Wake.
Slow No Wake
This piece was inspired by a mutual love for Lake Erie. The lake; a piece of the natural world, was created by the journey of an ancient glacier. Over time, it has been integrated into civilization, and here the interaction between nature and humanity inspires powerful feelings. This connection between nature and humanity is inescapable and simultaneously very spiritual. In this performance, Nathan & Stewart bring this connection to the forefront of the audience’s mind. To do this they focused on creating audio and visuals directly inspired by and captured at Lake Erie. During the piece, both artists mix visual & sound elements while making adjustments live. This collaboration make each performance feel as organic as possible.

This is an example of one of pieces I improvised for Bricolage. This isn't exact, as a lot of it was improvised, but it is a good representative example of the work: Slow No Wake.
