Macbeth

Director: Fabio Polanco
Lighting Designer: Cory Sprinkles

Scenic Designer: Patrick Ulrich

Costume Designer: Britteny Harrell

Summary of Production

This production of Macbeth focused on the idea unchecked corruption and ambition. Following Macbeth's returns from war, he is told of a prophecy in which he becomes the king of Scotland.

I decided to use a musical palette of low pounding percussion, distorted horns, metal striking metal sounds, and female vocalizations. This is to support the idea of clawing to obtain each character's vision of success.

For this production I was awarded four awards: 2nd Place in Sound Design (SETC), Outstanding Sound Design (APO), Outstanding Sound Designer (APO), and Outstanding Undergraduate Musician (KDE).

To aid in the creation of the aural content I wrote and was awarded a Flash Grant from Kent State University for upgrades to the sound studio.
